Awkwafina Awkwafina, an American actor and singer, began with a series of rap songs which dealt with the subject of sexuality and race. Her career expanded to Hollywood when she dropped a series of raps. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents from Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came via the trumpet. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop studies began when she was a teenager. When she was in college, she focused on her studies and studied women's studies as well as journalism. In a short period of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. She didn't start focusing on music until the time she finished her studies. Following her viral success on the Internet and her own song My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto the album she released, Yellow Ranger.
